Sinton Veterinary Clinic understands that emergencies happen. Our front desk staff is trained to recognize patients with urgent needs to get them seen as quickly as possible.
Unfortunately, due to our small staff, it is impossible for us to always be available after hours.
If you do call for an emergency and do not receive a call back within 15 minutes, do what is best for your animal and seek emergency care at a 24-hour facility. That’s what they’re there for! We recommend VCA Oso Creek or the Emergency Pet Clinic in Corpus Christi for your pet emergencies, and Retama Equine Hospital in San Antonio for equine emergencies.
Please be aware that these clinics are extremely busy – expect a 2-8 hour wait. Also, excellent care comes at a price. Expect $300-800 for minor outpatient emergencies, $1000+ for major problems and hospitalizations, and $3000+ for surgeries.
Our emergency fee is $150; expect a minimum invoice of $300 for minor outpatient emergencies and more for hospitalization and surgeries. Diagnostic capabilities after hours are limited, and we do not keep staff on-site after hours.
Neither SVC nor any of the clinics listed above allow clients to make payments. We all accept Care Credit, major credit cards, most insurance plans, checks with valid IDs for established clients, and cash.
Many emergencies are preventable! We will do our part to ensure that your animal is in the best possible health with minimal risks, as well as prepare you for managing minor emergencies.
Don’t wait to call! A simple phone call and prompt action can make a world of difference in your animal’s outcome.
Sinton Veterinary Clinic does NOT provide after-hours emergency services for non-clients; we want you to come see us before emergencies occur so we can help you prevent them! We encourage anyone who has an animal in their possession to proactively establish a relationship with a veterinarian.
We do have an answering service that will answer our phones after hours; however, they are not medical professionals and cannot give advice, but will pass on messages about emergencies.
If you haven’t been to the vet in at least a year, come see us! We’ll check on your animal’s health and help prevent any problems.
Come see us for a physical exam, and we’ll take a look at those pearly whites. From there, we can decide if further dental care is necessary.
